The Song of PIBBA

Tinige’: Peter R. Onedera

Dandan: Joey Franquez

The winds blow chants from across the sea

Calling forth the islands of PIBBA’s family

And so we gather in knowledge, friendship,

and smiles

Of languages and cultures, a tribute to our isles.

Iokwe, raan annim, kaselehlia, alii, aloha

Olomwaay, hafa dei, tuwoh, mogethin, Talofa

The song of PIBBA rings forth loud and clear

We unite, we are one, there’s no lance,

there’s no spear

In our tongues we say we love you to one and all

We are strong, we are bold, we are proud,

we stand tall

Iokwe, raan annim, kaselehlia, alii, aloha

Olomwaay, hafa dei, tuwoh, mogethin, talofa

The song of PIBBA is strong through the waves

Our canoes, our coconuts, our heritage we praise

Our islands of PIBBA crisscross the blue sea

Bilingual-Bicultural, in us we trust, our destiny!

Iokwe, raan annim, kaselehlia, alii, aloha

Olomwaay, hafa dei, tuwoh, mogethin, Talofa

Micronesia

Different Language
Different Beliefs
Different Customs
Different Traditions
Different Cultures
There is never a change
We are a family
Who live in small beautiful places
We will never change us
We are one, together in one
All for one and one for all
We are Micronesians.

Mom Never Gives Up

Mom can make a difference
Mom does her best
Mom gives loving support
Mom hids her painful feelings
Mom never complains
In all that she thinks
In all that she treats
In all the ways she talks
In all that she PRAYS
Mom definitely does make a difference
Daddy says I LOVE YOU, I just test you
The test is over. You’ve passed it.

The Best Teacher Ever

As a six-year-old student, I am cared and love by my mother
My mom is my Best teacher and
 I am a better student.

As a seven-year-old student mom is still my best friend and
I am a good student.

As an eight-year-old student nothing changed,
Still mom is the best teacher I’ve got and
I am the very best student.

As a nine-year-old student, something changed
My mother is not my best teacher ever and
I am not a better, a good, and the best student ever,
I am not successful in all things.

I hope that someone can find out about myself,
Luckily I am found by someone special in the school,
Her name is Miss Angel.

She teaches me and helps me in everything,
At all times, in all ways.

I feel successful this time,
She lightens up my way.
I feel bright this time.

At 13 years old, I graduated as an “A” student in the elementary level
I thank Miss. Angel,
I found the very best teacher ever again
I thank God for Miss Angel.
I feel I will make it this time.

As an eighteen-year-old student I graduated from high school and
Still Miss Angel is the very best teacher I have

As a twenty-two-year old student I received my B.A Degree.
As a twenty-five year-old student I received my M.A Degree.
As a twenty-seven-year-old college student I received my PhD, and
Still, Miss Angel is the Very Best teacher I have ever.
